Catalog Builder Adobe InDesign Module
Catalog
Builder’s Adobe InDesign module enhances Catalog Builder’s automated
design functionality with sophisticated graphics, typography, and
formatting capabilities. Catalog Builder users that have strict
corporate design requirements or highly creative design staffs can
choose to create customized InDesign templates and apply them to
product categories in the Catalog Builder database.
Catalog
Builder is tightly integrated with Adobe In-Design so the
database-driven benefits of the software are still available to the
completely customized catalog. It isn’t just a plug-in for Adobe
InDesign. Catalog Builder controls the InDesign capabilities much
like a human would.
For example,
Catalog Builder applies customized design components to any subset
of data in the catalog database. This rules-based approach allows
the graphic designer to produce sales and marketing tools like
vendor-focused and niche-market catalogs, seasonal flyers, printed
price lists and full-line catalogs without designing from scratch
every time.
Catalog
Builder also features a unique “reverse update” capability for
catalogs designed with the InDesign module. If a change needs to be
made to a catalog at any time, the user can make the correction in
the catalog page itself and Catalog Builder will update the database
and correct all occurrences of the data throughout the catalog.
-
Provides same
automation as Catalog Builder print module, but instead of using
Catalog Builder’s internal design module it builds catalog pages in
Adobe InDesign
-
Users can update the pages using
Adobe InDesign
-
Pricing or other fields in the
InDesign document can be changed either directly from the
Catalog Builder database or from an outside source such as a
Microsoft Excel Spread Sheet without rebuilding the whole
document
-
Reverse Update
feature records the changes made in the inDesign document and
updates the Catalog Builder database if needed
